We meet at 2pm on the first Tuesday of each month in members’ homes. We usually  choose a theme for the meeting and each member researches a piece of art that interests them on that theme and briefly presents it to the group. We are a very informal group, no great knowledge of art is required. We learn from each other as we go along and are often surprised by the variety of genres of art that come up, encouraging far and wide discussions. Visits and special presentations by members are arranged as we choose.

The group is made up of enthusiastic art lovers keen to develop and share their knowledge.

The meeting will have a range of activities including:-

• Individual members will take turns planning sessions
• Online Art courses and DVDs
• Discussing a favourite painting
• Visits to galleries
Meetings include refreshments!

Art Appreciation group visit to Stansted House at Christmas to see Georgian art, family portraits and tapestries.
