This walking group is aimed at those who are interested in not too strenuous countryside walks. There are two walks per month - usually between 3 and 4 miles on the first Monday and between 5 and 6 miles on the 3rd Friday of the month.
The walks are reasonably local and, depending on the route, will typically include a pub stop for lunch or refreshment.
Most are circular walks but public transport may be used to complete some linear walks.
The walkers meet at 0945 for a 1000 start with the location advised in advance.
There is no limit on numbers.

Longer walk 20th March 2026
U3A walking group members enjoyed a leisurely 5 mile walk in the sunshine from Rowlands Castle to Staunton Country Park. We took time to look at the progress being made with the reservoir, listen to and try to identify the birds, and observe all the spring flowers and hedgerows starting to blossom. Spring has definitely sprung.
Walking around the lake we spotted a terrapin basking on a log in the sunshine and we inspected various archaeological excavations taking place. We made a brief visit to the Storey Garden shop followed by a not so brief visit to the café before heading home.
We did as much talking as walking and it was a lovely way to spend a sunny morning.
