Dr Ian Goodall - Great Women Scientists
The talk describes the life and work of Marie Curie, one of the greatest ever scientists, the ONLY person to win Nobel prizes in both Chemistry and Physics. Ian Goodall will then speak about Rosalind Franklin whose X-ray photograph provided the crucial evidence in the elucidation of the DNA double helix. The life and work of Rachel Carson is described – her book ‘Silent Spring’ can be truly said to have been the spark that lit the environmental movement.
